I love rodeo. The rodeo cowboys get out there and risk their lives trying to earn a living doing what they love. Unlike other professional athletes, rodeo cowboys don't go to the pay window unless they win. Not only that, but they have to pay entry fees just to compete. There isn't any comparison to other professional athletes who will only play their way (for millions). I was at Lane Frost's last rodeo and saw his last ride. I can tell you for sure that rodeo is more than a sport. In just a few seconds there in Cheyenne in July 1989, my emotions went from elation at seeing Marty Staneart ride the never-ridden bull Mr.T to horror seeing Lane Frost signal for help and then collapse. Most everything else IS just a game. This site is dedicated to the Rodeo Riders, the cowboys and cowgirls who make their living riding the rodeo circuit. I hope this site will take you behind the chutes to find out what it feels like to climb on a bull or a bronc and take your life in your hands. If you are a rodeo rider, please leave your story. If you are a rodeo fan, I hope you enjoy your visit. |
