Smart Little Lena mare LOADED with potential to go any direction! This is a pro horse easy enough for an amateur. Big barrel takes up leg well on this 6yo 14.2hh mare. We were doing mounted shooting within days of introduction. She goes English beautifully. Made for western, neck reins, direct reins. She has been introduced to jumping and loved it. She trail rides and is not spooky, goes through water, stands to mount/dismount, opens gates, over bridges etc with no worry at all. Not mareish, very sweet in your pocket type girl. She OOZES TALENT! current owner knows that she can’t offer this one in a million girl the time or opportunities to reach her “through the roof” potential. This mare is GOLD and has the potential to be at the VERY TOP of several disciplines, whichever way you want to go! She is cow bred and wicked smart. Was sorting birds in the arena within 60 seconds of showing her what I wanted. She is naturally forward but can jog slower than she walks, lope slower than she trots. Knows all of her lateral work, ready to start on lead changes. She is catty and quick and was born a work-a-holic. This mare could be a TOP cow horse, reining horse, mounted shooting horse, dressage horse, has potential scope to go Training level eventing comfortably and certainly has scope for Novice. Water, ditches, banks no problem at all. I literally cannot say enough good things about this mare! We want to find her a placement that intends to competently develop her talent as she truly can be a top horse under the right guidance. She is good for farrier, loading, tying, bathing, tacking, good ground manners, good for shots, good in a stall, no vices at all. She is good in a herd except with mini donkeys - wanted to herd them like cows. Impressive, but not good for the donkeys. Llamas, however, are fine! She is a simple, light ride, still a little bit green so needs a competent rider who can quietly manage reminding her of her frame and desired pace, and have quiet soft cues and quiet hands. Has given lessons and she did great, but we are really looking for a home to continue to develop her talent so will not be interested in selling to a beginner, even w/trainer. She matches her rider’s energy, you get what you give with this one, which I love. She hasn’t been overworked by any means, had a very casual and slow start really just getting into work within the last year. The worst things we can say about her are she lacks a little confidence on very slippery terrain and did a green crow hop once on one of her first trails going downhill in slippery mud, and she doesn’t do well turned out with mini donkeys. This is the horse everyone wishes they had. She will go very quickly so don’t hesitate if you are interested. She is utd on everything, goes barefoot fine but has brand new full set of shoes put on on the 9th of June, she is ready to go!
