Devante LDS is a magnificent show horse, with a dark golden coat, who stands at an officially measured 15.3 1/2 H, just shy of 16H. He is eligible for competition with the NDPC (National Dressage Pony Cup) in the Small Horse Division, and will get his permanent measurement card in 2024. This year, in 2023, Davey competed at 2nd Level, winning the Championship in the Open Division. He currently stands 3rd Place in the Nation with the NDPC for 2nd Level Open.

Competing at USDF recognized shows throughout the season, he consistently earned scores in the upper 60s to mid 70s at 2nd Level, winning every one of his classes. His last competition of the season was at Lamplight in August, at which he moved up to try 3rd Level. While his scores were not as impressive at that level yet, he still handled himself like a gentleman despite the increased difficulty. We fully expect him to continue to improve his understanding of flying changes this winter and to be ready to easily handle 3rd level in 2024.

Davey has come a long way in learning to cope with his tension and is becoming quite the solid citizen. He will always have that forward sensitivity and spark that makes for an upper class show horse, but not necessarily suitable for a timid rider just finding her seat. This horse is a big mover, with a lot of training and show experience under his saddle. The potential to move up to the FEI levels is obvious to any who have watched him go and progress the last couple years. He has impeccable manners and is easy to handle in every way.
