The possibilities are endless with this pretty girl. Her paternal brother Smoken Peponita Doc, AKA: "Bandito" has won the champion CCPRA high point barrel racing award for several years. Not only has he won over $100,000, he and his rider have won several high point saddles and buckles. A paternal sibling to the sale filly Peponita Smoken Nita, AKA: "Nita". Nita is quickly showing she is the real deal in the barrel pen, already winning checks in 2D.
Penny, Bandito and Nita's sire has sired over 25 performance earners in Cutting, Reining, Roping, Working Cowhorse, halter and barrels. He himself is a multiple reining futurity champion, APHA point earner in reining (qualified for and competed in reining at the APHA World Show) and has his ROM in Working Cowhorse. His sire Smoke N Black Hawk (Penny's grandsire) has a very impressive show record, being a 4X WORLD CHAMPION, 2x Reserve World Champion. He has earned 887 APHA Points with 8 Superiors in Calf Roping, Heading, Heeling, Reining, Steer Stopping, Working Cowhorse, Amateur Reining and Amateur Working Cowhorse. This amazingly talented stallion not only won the highly regarded APHA Oscar Crigler Cattle Award, at the APHA World Show, he was also the High Point Western Horse at the World Show and earned the Reserve All-Around Horse title at the APHA World Show. It takes an incredibly talented and athletic horse to earn that many awards and points these days.
Penny was started under saddle during the (2022) summer by Cole Hook. Cole was impressed with how easy Penny was to start under saddle, commenting that she takes things in stride and is eager to learn. She took to pushing cows like she had done it before. She is an absolute dream on the trails, and is more consistent/dependable on the trail than horses with much more exposure in the mountains/trails. She has been started in the barrel pattern and she really enjoys it. She is a super fast learner. She has not been pushed hard or had her legs ran off. Penny is greenbroke, so she needs an intermediate to advanced rider to continue in her training. Her pedigree speaks for itself. She ties and trailers great. Stands for farrier, dentist and veterinarian.
Once you are finished competing with Penny, she will make an amazing broodmare.
