Gandalf is an energetic Standardbred with a heart of gold. He's looking for his friend who might take him on trail rides, over jumps, or to new adventures he's never dreamed of.
He's big, 16.2hh, and needs a confident rider. He's good over water, down the trail, and in the arena. He's ready to go in any direction; he goes both English and Western, and has basic body control and flexion. He goes in a snaffle, bosal, or shanked broken bit and responds well to each. He's got a huge stride, and walks down the trail on a loose rein. He has worked cattle in pasture and lived in the mountains, so is acclimated to lots of different terrain.
He takes his confidence from his rider, so a solid seat and quiet hands are a must. He was abused, so can be a little slow to trust. He ties, trailers, and stands for the farrier, though has some issues with his back feet.
