Whiskey is a 11 year old stout, stocky, built grade MFT gelding, standing at 15.1 hands he is a bay all day with good solid hooves and sound with good bone…Just a all-around good solid using horse… This boy is calm and laid-back except at feeding time…he loves his food.
He does the following with ease:
vets, stands for farrier, bathes, loads/unloads…
Brushing up on these arena skills that are handy on the trail: side passing, spins, (good enough he’s a big boy) comes over to mounting block, stands still while mounting, working off leg and backing…
a real joy to ride!!
Haven’t done a ton of trail riding on him yet but the 70 year-old gentleman who raised him rode him extensively on trails and I am sure he will transition right back to trails fine…I haven’t found a hole in him yet besides loving his food a little too much!
Up-to-date on everything, no maintenance needed or special supplements, he holds nicely on hay, grain and lick tub and love❤️
